A number of people have been injured in Berlin after an explosion went off at a block of flats causing a fire,it’s reported.
At least one person was said to be seriously hurt in the incident,which happened in Neukölln around 3.30am this morning.
Several others were taken to hospital with minor injuries,including smoke inhalation.
The explosion went off on the ground floor of the building,reports Berliner Zeitung,and the fire broke out shortly after,spreading quickly.
A large number of fire engines and ambulances were deployed,the news site said,with 45 people treated on site for minor injuries.
Fifteen of those were taken to hospital for further checks and treatment.

While firefighters were working on the building several more explosions occurred,causing window panes to shatter.
Police said they do not yet know the cause of the explosion,and said a deliberate act could not be ruled out.
Residents reported hearing a loud bang and then seeing heavy smoke.
The fire has now been extinguished,according Berliner Zeitung.
